Wasei Eigo, hu? what??

No japão se costuma isar muito o ingles (obviamente adaptado pra pronuncia japonesa), mas nem sempre significa oque aparenta ou tem significado totalmente diferente do original. pra resolver esse problema inventaram o wasei eigo [和製英語] que significa Japanese-style English!

オーダーメイド [Order-made] – “custom-made” ou sobmedida
スキンシップ [Skin-ship] – Personal contact, contato fisico ou contato com pets
コンセント [Consento] – Outlet/socket, deve ser de “concentric plug”
キーホルダー [Key holder] – Key ring, chaveiro.
デコレーションケーキ [Decoration Cake] – Fancy cake, bolo?
ガードマン [Guardman] – Security guard, sugurança
コインランドリ [Coin laundry] – Laundromat, mas coin laundry até faz algum sentido
グレードアップ [Grade up] – Upgrade
ナンバーディスプレイ [Number display] – Caller ID
フリーサイズ [Free size] – One-size-fits-all, tamanho unico.
マグカップ [Mug cup] – Mug, mug cup é redundante
ベビーカー [Baby car] – Baby carriage, carrinho de bebe
メールマガジン [Mail magazine] – Email newsletter
ノートパソコン [Note pasocon] – Laptop, laptop ou notebook
パンティストッキング [Panty stocking] – Pantyhose
マニア [Mania] – Enthusiasm
フライドポテト [Fried potato] – French fries
ペーパーテスト [Paper test] – Written examination.
ファンタジック [Fantasic] – Fantastic, talvez uma mistura de fantastic com magic, não tenho certeza
ラジカセ [Raji-case] – Boom box, vem da expressão “radio-cassette”
テレビゲーム [TV game] – Video game
ガソリンスタンド [Gasoline stand] – Gas station, petrol station
